Our Story

Our founder Priya Gopal spent the first decade of her career focusing on the fundamentals of clinical operations, data management and statistical programming at the ground level. She developed a passion for data and challenged business-as-usual processes to scale productivity during the rapid expansion of global CROs - Parexel and Theorem Clinical.​

Priya cherishes this phase of her career to have given her the skills to rapidly learn any process or technology and deliver under demanding timelines without compromising on quality.

Priya advanced into executive leadership in the next decade of her career, driving data strategy and operations across global organizations - GSK, Takeda and Flatiron.  In these roles, she shaped enterprise-wide data initiatives, engineering practices, and operational frameworks. She established global data standards, built GxP-compliant infrastructures, and pioneered AI-powered solutions for clinical research and real world datasets.​

Recognized for her pragmatic design philosophy, Priya favored working prototypes over slide decks, ensuring ideas translated into tangible outcomes. She guided teams through complex business transformations in technology and operations, building diverse global teams that consistently delivered under compressed timelines.

Through these experiences, she uncovered a critical truth: innovators often struggle to bridge vision and execution. The real challenge lies not in collecting data, but in harmonizing it reflecting the reality of the data collection processes.  The challenge is in crafting a consistent, credible narrative for regulators and investors.  

This insight inspired her to found Inferential Data to help BioTech and MedTech companies plan for comprehensive data strategy and helping them implement it with hands-on execution.  She believes that a good data strategy would bring disparate data together and tell a consistent truthful story to a diverse audience - regulators, clinicians and investors.  She aims to bring in proven expertise to every engagement whether it is designing a clinical data lake, implement standards, deploying generative AI for real time analytics or help design the next generation of AI enabled tools in clinical research that complies with rigorous regulatory needs.
